While we see “supermoons” on a somewhat regular basis, the one on 13 November 2016 was a bit more ‘super’ than usual. This was due to it being closer to the Earth than at any time since 1948. I was able to go to the Tidal Basin in Washington, DC to capture the sights from there.
There were a number of photographers there with the same idea, but it was amusing to answer questions from several tourists about what we were photographing with all the tripods and long lenses. 🙂
